Resolution

Use elevated privileges to reinstall the security update on the server.

1. Select Start, then type cmd.
2. Right-click Command to quickly display search results, then select Run as administrator.
3. When the user account control window appears, select the permission to open the window From an elevated command prompt, then select Continue.If you absolutely can’t see the UAC window, continue syncing to the next step.
4. Enter the full path to the .msp file for each security and update, and then press Enter.
5. After updating the settings, restart this particular server.

Check if you can now access the server via OWA and ecp without an error.

If you still get an ECP error, you get the following:

1. Start IIS Manager on the server.

2. Go to the Backend Exchange > ECP Virtual Directory web pages.

3. Select Application Settings > BinsearchFolder.

4. If your clients are still unable to connect to the OWA Internet Computer, this is most likely due to a firewall issue or an IIS bug. Checking for a firewall issue has always been easy. Just try to access the part of the OWA server behind your firewall.

   Check the paths to the listed Exchange directories. You can see directory paths that usually look like this:

5. Replace paths with watch paths:
