Problem

If remote clients are using Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013, they can change the Exchange proxy settings in Outlook:

Open Ms Outlook and go to Account Settings > Advanced Settings Connection > > Exchange Proxy Settings

Under “Only connect to market proxies that have this primary name in their certificate:” delete and “msstd:* replace.domain.com” with “msstd:webmail.domain.com”

Microsoft 2016 outlook only uses Exchange auto-discovery to set up Exchange accounts. Therefore, manually changing proxy settings in exchange Outlook is not the best option. The first thing to do is to make sure that the MS Exchange autodetect is sending the correct message:

Run the following command:
Get-OutlookProvider -Identity EXPR | fl

Test values:

CertPrincipalName – should restore the common/principal name of the SSL certificate, which has the following format: msstd:webmail.domain.com

Server must be empty

If CertPrincipalName is not the correct type, run the following command to change it:
set-OutlookProvider -id EXPR -Server “[servername]” -CertPrincipalName “msstd:webmail.domain.com”< /li >

If the server is no longer empty, run the following command to remove it:
set-OutlookProvider -id -server expr $null

Even though Exchange auto-discovery is properly optimized, Outlook 2016 does not update this existing account with a new one with the certificate key name. In my best experience,A particular way to solve this problem is to close all errors, then open Outlook and add New to the specified Exchange account. Outlook will not update as it is a new account entry but will additionally update the existing one with the correct settings.
