    I currently have a Maven based GWT project that usually includes a guava. I’m having problems with Maven when building sources (and I can’t compile sources, most of which are in guava-gwt * .jar :

    )

      could not parse error message: Symbol: static setCountImpl Location: class/home/mark/.m2/repository/com/google/guava/guava-gwt/11.0.1/guava-gwt-11.0.1.jar(com/google/common/collect/AbstractMultiset.java): 100: error : cannot find symbol Returns setCountImpl (this, item, number); ^

    I can’t figure out why Maven thinks it is asking you to compile from sources with goyava-gwt . This is what my project audiences look like:

  • I don’t know what else to try. goyava-gwt contains the source code because GWT will compile the equivalent JavaScript there. But I don’t want Maven to tryI tried to compile these sources.

    Change

    could not parse error message warning

    Just an absolute note … the test files themselves don’t need more guava-gwt guava as long as they are compiled, and as a cost Java Code (you don’t go to the compilation stage of GWT). I don’t need guava-gwt specifically for these tests, but it should help make you available to real GWT client code.

    Change (again)

    Having determined that the issue is not Guava related, but related to the entire Maven version (see my answer), I have updated the title and question to be very useful for future users.
