Tips To Resolve The Error 408 Registering Opposite Path

This guide was written to help you if you receive a 408 error message registering Counterpath. g.The 408 Request Timeout error indicates that the site visitor did not receive a response from the server you are trying to connect to. Another most likely reason is that a restrictive plan or router is blocking validation or response from the Internet.

Symptom

For 8×8 contact center solutions, Bria displays the following error message “Request 408 timed out.”

Applies To

• 8 x 8 Contact Center
• Bria for Windows /macOS

Resolution

1. Check the server information (check the server information (domain, server address, proxy address) entered under the SIP account in Bria.

2. Make sure Bria is not blocked by any of the following:
   • Firewall
   • Router
   • Antivirus

Call your IT team to make sure Bria is a valid application for all firewalls and routing devices that transport your network and system operations.

Reason

The 408 Request Timeout error indicates that the client is literally not receiving a response from our own server to which you are trying to connect. This error is most likely caused by incorrect server information (domain, device address) in your SIP account.

Another possible reason is that a firewall or restricted router is blocking your request or response from this server.

Registry Error 404¶

Globally, this error occurs when the information assigned to your SIP account settings is not always correct. You will need to go back and check your account settings to find and fix the error. See Configuring X-Lite or EyeBeam.

408 – Request Timed Out¶

If you see a real 408 error from x-lite or EyeBeam due to a rule, it often means that you don’t feel like you are getting a response from the sip recording server that you are finally trying to establish a connection. This can happen for several reasons, but you can deal with it:

1. Your SIP settings are incorrect.
2. Your switch is not configured correctly or does not support this application.
3. The firewall is preventing it from working.
4. Anti-spyware is definitely blocking this

You can temporarily disable any firewall software running on your desktop, including Windows Firewall. It’s the same with anti-spyware.It is also recommended to allow them to be connected Connect directly to your DSL / cable modem and bypass your router. This will determine if the router is actually causing the problem.

Error 500¶

When using Xlite or EyeBeam as owners, you get 500 error messages when trying to connect.You can contact your ISP and ask them to help you make the necessary changes to your router. Hopefully these changes will make VoIP services easier to use.
