Update 916106 to resolve HTTP issues in Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004 SP2

    Event 14079 persists

We will be following this event on two different SBS ’03 Premium
(ISA 2004) sites for many hours. I’ve tried most of the other suggestions posted, including restarting ICW
and even restarting isactrl and the alternative isasched. Text:

“Due to a fatal error, the fwsrv service is not responding to all
requests. If they are not responding,
stop the service and its process, and then try again.”

I can’t find anything useful on the Microsoft site.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293863/en-us seems invalid because
returns the time and/or possibly after a restart programs (and even the server itself in despair).
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840180/en-us writes “false positives””.

This latest knowledge base was released 2 years ago. What comes with never being fixed? Is this
    really a false positive?

How exactly are you doing with this Joe?

Firewall Service Lanestops responding and event IDs 14079 plus and 14057
are written to the application event log in ISA Server 2004

We’re going ahead, it will help to see this hourly event in its entirety on 2 different SBS 2003 sites (ISA
2004 premium sites). Tried other information posted, including restarting ICW
“Due to an immediate error, the fwsrv service has stopped responding to all
requests. Stop the service, or possibly the affected process, if the site
is not responding. do this is not responding and restarts the game.”
Can’t find anything helpful on the Microsoft site.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293863/en-us doesn’t seem to be able to use this because
It happened again an hour later and so on after a reboot (and even
the server itself in desperate treatment).
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840180/en-us says this is an absolute “false positive”.
This latest knowledgebase was released 2 years ago. Has ours ever been repaired? Is this
    seriously a false alarm??
    Thank you.
    Joe

Thanks for someone’s response. I’m comingChanged everything and it doesn’t matter.

    error 2007 ese

Event ID 5, Event ID 14079, and Thing ID 14176 are written to some application log on your Internet Security and Acceleration Server computer.

Microsoft Web Proxy on a computer with Microsoft Internet… The Microsoft Web Proxy service on a computer with multiple Microsoft Security Internet servers and therefore Acceleration (ISA) servers can sometimes stop responding or terminate unexpectedly. When this happens, users cannot connect to the Internet through their ISA Server computer.

In addition, events similar to your current next events will be logged in the new application log:Event ID: 14079standard errorSource: Microsoft ISA Server Management.Description:Due to a possible error, the w3proxy service has stopped. for all requests. This has happened twice in the last 2:59 of significant time. Try stopping the service or killing the process associated with it if it is not responding and try again. Check the Event Viewer for relevant error messages.

Event ID: 14176Type: Microsoft errorSource: web proxyDescription:Disk cache drive: urlcacheDir1.cdat could not be initialized. There were some errors when ISA Server was restoring the cache for some save files. ISA Server will now attempt to restore these files. These errors could have occurred because there was most likely not enough time to complete the required shutdown operations during a previous shutdown of ISA Server. To prevent this in the future, users can increase the value of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlWaitToKillServiceTimeout registry key. Determine the root cause of cache misses by examining old logged events or the law of errors. The error code in the data area of the event properties indicates the root cause of the loss of money (internal code: 503.6333.3.0.1200.166).
