I’m currently trying to revive my alien to copy the plant image to a USB stick. I first tried connecting the free 8gb thumb that I got from the feature, but that didn’t work. Much like Dell’s recovery media says “Select a drive from the suggested below” but finds nothing (which I later found out was the wrong USB drive after accidentally unplugging it). So I tried to create a working recovery media using DVD-RW and later discovered that the recovery feature does not support rewritable and packaged discs. Again, I just sold a new Kingston Data Traveler 111 with 16 GB of memory (sold and 14.4 GB actual) and I still cannot create a recovery image from it – it still shows the line “Select a disk from the list below “. , where Kingston does not specify a specific USB drive. So far I have triedshaft the traditional USB port on the device and one of the USB 3.0 ports on the right side of the computer (the other port is used by the mouse), but I can’t open the Dell recovery media to access the drive to save the factory image for use. Recognizing each drive from the computer works well.
