Playing HDR Videos
To play these videos, you need to use the supplied mpc-hc player and select MPC Video Renderer or Madvr as your video renderer. These video renderers can automatically send all HDR metadata to your HDR compatible TV. Otherwise, they convert the colors of the video so you can view them on a regular monitor / TV.
Note. The hdr10 format is not supported at this time. Not Dolby Vision.
3D Video
The Codec Pack contains a new plug-in for decoding 3D H.264 MVC video. To watch these tutorial videos properly, you must use the supplied MPC-HC (64-bit version of the player) and select Madvr as your video renderer. To display video on your monitor / TV, you must have Windows 8.x / 10 (or Windows 7 with any modern GPU) nvidia installed.
Note. SBS (side-by-side) and 3D up / down playback – video supportsdo not meet the requirements. Such videos are actually encoded as a second video. Your TV must have this option to perform 3D correctly.
For NVIDIA, you need driver version 418.xx or earlier. In more sophisticated versions, peel support has been removed.
Blu-ray
MPC-HC can play Blu-ray discs. There are only two limitations:
1) Blu-ray menus are not supported. It will automatically play the title associated with the disc. Other titles are automatically available through the player’s navigation menu.
2) The disk must be decrypted using a modern tool. For example AnyDVD HD or Passkey Lite.
