I found myself on the Lexmark Indonesia website if you want to know why my X3470 no doubt always says “cover open”. The resource website says the cover arm recently fell off the sensor.

AHA! When the main body of the scanner is stripped from the very best, and the gray plastic piece is unscrewed and removed, a suitable white nylon lever protrudes from the huge rectangular hole … about 1/2 inch to the right of the head print. This lever simply snaps onto the microswitch / sensor (cover switch). I recently reinstalled the white nylon part on the Presto and it got fixed. Mine came off and formed deep in my intestines, usually the intestines of a printer.

This sensor is mounted on the PCB approximately in the middle of the PCB and can be seen by looking through a human hole in the black washbasin panel covering the PCB.

It is entirely possible to put the part back in place without limited disassembly, or simply insert something to keep the sensor in the actual “closed Position (if you lose one or two fingers to this secret, don’t blame me).

How do you get a piece off the scanner?

I get a message about the open lid failure check

Man, you are without a doubt a genius !! Thanks a lot for the detailed instructions. I’ve looked everywhere for a switch pointing in the wrong place. I just wanted to let you know that I was able to help you solve this problem as well. The little “strip” on the lever is definitely untenable … so I masked it (the tape comes from everyone of course) to close the switch and / or voila, it works. You have to manually insert the cartridge to convert it, but at least it prints. Thanks again to Rob M !!!

Thanks Rob for spreading your solution and I didn’t break anything !! You me too frommoney protected, I’m going to buy another printer !! (not the best Lexmark) lol 🙂
    Thanks a lot anyway !!

How can I remove the “part of the scanner”? Do you have any idea what this magic white level is?

Yesterday Lexmark announced that it was defective … and offered someone a discount itself. I would like to fix this if I can.

Thanks my friend, I started to think that I am a complete jerk, I still suffered from your descriptive instructions, after the Website-Mini fumbled and fiddled with the switch, on which the white lever was finally cut.
    And yes, it works again.

I called Lexmark and they told me they would send me a new important item within 4 or more business days with no additional invoices !!! After weeks of trying to repair it myself … I should have recognized it immediately.

I am very upset that I cannot see where the lever probably broke. Where is the PCB and the problem is rectangular, etc. This is really confusing, I need someone to come with me step by step. Thank you for your appreciation.

What kind of grayish plastic are we talking about? I just pressed on the top of the scanner and every open part where you put the paper to scan has no screws. If I only used this printer, it is definitely very short because it is flawed, thanks for this help

Well the scanner is a discount, the gray cover is removed, I put on a microswitch (little black buttons that you can press: dom) … No, but traces of a dirty lever … is it on it? Because he was transported several times … and can he get lost all the time) … I see white situations next to the switchboard (left) with a cable for connecting (apartment) … but none of the levers is not labeled with your name … I can’t think of this damn thing specifically, there are absolutely holes there .. 🙂 please advise

If you are having trouble finding the lever, like I have with the giant board printer, then it is actually BACK of the board … here is a scene with an image basically showing where it is. Good luck !

    Just on a man (:

Great – thanks – but it took several hours to disassemble, find the plastic part, find a similar setup, reconnect the wires, test, the scanner cord came off and the gray plastic part is below the inside of the camera. UsedThere is a scanner card. , reconnect, try again, but now everything works. thanks a lot

Thanks to BILD for your help.
I had little white levers, I knew that the problem was in this idea, I opened it all, but I could not understand how the leverage goes with it. I would do it now and it’s in production again.

    Thanks again.
