Step 6. At the online prompt, enter stop cryptsvc and wait for the service to stop.
Step 3. Type CD and press Enter. Now type CD windows system32 and press Enter.
Step 8: Now type ren catroot2 catroot3 and press Enter. This is catroot2 where all the certified Windows drivers are stored for a specific and successful download and installation of all Windows updates.
If these files are damaged, Windows Update may not work. However, if you delete it, Windows will restore the folder with most of the protected system files that are not even corrupted, hoping to fix your family problem.
If you were unable to install Windows enhancements to Windows XP or Windows XP, try the above method to rename the catroot2 folder. Do not easily delete the contents of the folder – it will not work.

So if you can’t create Windows updates on Windows XP and Windows Vista, try the above scheme to rename the catroot2 folder, it won’t work.
Also, if you receive an “Access Denied” error when trying to uninstall catroot2, you will need to force some commands that you run as administrator. You can also try restarting your computer in Safe Mode and then trying to rename the folder. Or
