So, for the preface… I’ve had fun with the Linux system and Unix distributions for many years, and I also like Linux for general computing, although I’m a big gamer, so we’re locked into Windows, which, unfortunately, is . I’ve just played around with Ubuntu Linux like Peppermint and Ubuntu itself but came to Mageia as my route after reading some good information about Mandriva. However, online marketing takes some getting used to as the commands are new to the partial newbie. I tried to figure out what to use as apt-get and yummy came out and found urpmi urpme and others in the list but when I use them to run they are still available as the command was not found. I have rpm and rpmq which experts say they know, but I’m far away otherwise I can’t figure out how to install them or why they’re missing.

Another quick question: when agencies install outside of the software manager, they say they’re downloading directly from the site and want to know what Linux you’re using. I was lucky enough to get Fedora compatible RPMs, but when they want me to add repositories to install, Mageia refuses to let me because it doesn’t actually tell Mageia which we suspect. It gave me a specific error when trying to add repositories available for Fedora trials and ordered Pandora pithos player. What should I usually do in such circumstances and am I correct if it is compatible with Fedora Linux RPMs?

Well, in general, we’re pretty good with Fedora packages, but most of the dependencies in Fedora aren’t named much.oh differently, although the packages are still relative to the desktop, because the actual files needed may be in the same places.
But if your company is unable to add the Fedora repositories, you may need to download the packages manually, perhaps by installing them directly from a URL. For example, for pythos, copy the URL from the Fedora package inside

then pass it to urpmi, but you need to add the –allow-nodeps option to try to install without monitoring urpmi dependencies (which you then need to do manually). Select
