The first drive was just rooted ( / ) and then switched to it.

If you want to format your hard drive in Windows to make this tool perfect for Linux use, you won’t be able to do that. Windows only supports Microsoft manually supports file system formats such as FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS. Linux usually uses programs that Windows does not support.It does.

It is not possible to directly resize a drive from ext4 to NTFS without losing every bit of data stored on the drive. Any information on the drive that shouldn’t be copied and saved somewhere if you don’t will be lost when you reformat Boost.
