Let’s become reality here. When it comes to virus threats, Linux is definitely the last thing a hacker needs. However, this does not justify the fact that it comes from all attack vectors. While Linux has the advantage of “anonymous security,” there are still areas to be concerned about. For example, just because Linux can’t run Windows programs (without Wine) doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful.

This reason can still be pervasive, especially if you have a Samba (Windows Linux file sharing) server or add-on devices that interact with a lot of Linux and Windows on a regular basis. They may – fail to mention – that some hackers (but not very often) have started targeting Linux users directly.

So, should you use one of the best antivirus software for Ubuntu?

    1.uBlock Origin + Hosts Files

Linux generally does not require the same level of virus protection, although Windows 10 does, because hackers are far from choosing it to get paid for its relatively low usage. The installation, and also because most of the things you use, the installation is Linux. be (hopefully!) through trusted databases.

However, with the rise of bitcoin mining, there is a way to turn your computer into undead by visiting certain websites, which in turn contain scripts that turn your computer into a mine of coins.

    ubuntu security antivirus

The simplest blocker for this is uBlock Origin, which comes with a huge filter preinstalled that blocks websites and scripts for mining coins.

You can also block this complete and valuable coin mining list by copying it to your company file.

    2. You Take Precautions Yourself

Since Ubuntu is actually a relatively closed repository when it comes to what software you can find and what main sources you store it from (Ubuntu APT library is said to be something like this repository. which is heavily considered by most people), you should be sure if you take all important precautions in this case. If you don’t When third-party antivirus is thinned and you are still protected in Ubuntu, please try the following first:

    • Use a script blocker for your browser (NoScript is a good Firefox feature) to protect yourself from Flash and Java-based exploits.
    • Support Ubuntu upgrade with apt-get sudo update and apt-get sudo upgrade
    • Use a firewall. (Gufw is a great option.)

If you’ve followed the steps above and still want extra protection, check it out.

    3. ClamAV

When you talk about the routes of viruses across most Linux systems, people think of ClamAV. It is a “high performance” PC scanner that can be easily run on a Linux desktop or Linux (and even Windows) server. This tool does everything from the command line. The “high performance” attribute comes from the fact that many of them are multithreaded and the CPU utilization is really good.

  • It can read files of various formats, create and parse archives, and supports multiple signature languages. It can also be usedas a station gateway scanner. Suffice it to say that if you want a good Linux antivirus and you are right with a different terminal, you should try ClamAV.

    4. ClamTk Virus Scanner

Ubuntu is a distribution or variant of the Linux operating system. As with any other Linux operating system, you should deploy a Trojan for Ubuntu for maximum protection against threats.

ClamTk is not a virus scanner, but the artistic interface of the ClamAV herpes virus scanner of the same name. This will allow you to perform many tasks that previously required serious critical knowledge and ClamAV syntax. The development team claims it was “just designed to be an easy-to-use on-demand scanner on Linux.”

True, although incredibly easy to understand. What’s even better is that since then it’s just the graphic layer of the ClamAV ideal, you still get all the functionality out of it, and usually nothing is lost. If you need a reliable antivirus and are not the newest command line fan, ClamTk is your best bet.

    5. ESET NOD32 Antivirus

Eset Nod32 Antivirus is an antivirus virus scanner for Linux, Android, Mac and Windows. At $ 59.99, it offers cross-platform protection against malware that infects both Windows and Mac systems. You can expect thatit will look the same, definitely for Linux.

There are probably not many listed on the product page, so it is Linux-specific; However, it should be noted that most antivirus scanners do the same: they actively scan for threats and even “virus definitions”, and also scan for viruses, malware, spyware, and exploits for gadgets.

If you have money to spend and you need a quality Linux antivirus, someone can give it a try!

    6. Sophos Antivirus

    ubuntu security antivirus

Sophos is a lesser known security company, but it is making a name for itself. Basically they have products for almost everything, both paid and free, including a PC-less Linux scan tool. Thus, you can search for “suspicious files” in “real time” to prevent the spread of Windows (or Mac) viruses on your Linux computer.

It also protects your Linux desktop a lot. If you are looking for a good scanner, it is worth giving it a try.

    7. Comodo Antivirus For Linux Support

Comodo has been around for a long time and offers toBoth paid and free products. Like Sophos and They eset, they offer a wide range of computer security software for a wide variety of platforms. Comodo Antivirus for Linux offers proactive prevention that can stop popular threats immediately.

It also offers a scan scheduling system that allows you to easily schedule your electronic computer usage based on your security practices, as well as an email filter (which works well with Qmail MTA, Sendmail, Postfix, and Exim). There are many cool features that can of course help keep your Linux computer safe from viruses and malware. Yes

    Conclusion

Viruses are a bad thing. They can also ruin your computer, your day, and even your life. That is why it is so important to protect yourself in some way. While we Linux users can do without the constant use of these tools, I would argue that it is irresponsible not to have at least a set of scanning tools on your computer.
