It seems to me that I am using a home server with Windows Home Server 2011 and have set up Remote Web Access and Remote Desktop. I also have a nice SSL certificate from PositiveSSL that is usually configured on IIS. But when I log into Remote Desktop and Remote Web Access, I get a severe error that this certificate is probably not valid. So how can I tilt it to use a valid card?

Users are most likely receiving this message because of a server / domain mismatch because this alias is not included as a subject alternative name in your SSL certificate. Try to go to the test page, which will allow you to completely install SBS from the public internet, and see every time the message appears. Of course, the discovery is publicly available But the internet won’t be known as third party companies, of course that should be fine. If it works again, go to your transmitter and ask to add the listed official name as SAN.

- Trying to access from another ideal network, same problem. It turns out that self-signed certificates are stored in IIS when they come up and Home Server activated another domain with Windows Live because my registrar was not supported

Sorry, I missed you somewhere in between. I’m just trying to understand in you what you want to do and what it really is. Daily life with other self-signed certificates should not bother you in any way; you should only be concerned about the direction of access to the certificate for which you qualify. Maybe the certificate warning on RDP connection contains the hostname of the remote PC?

No, there may be nothing on the remote host. Only the server name is displayed. It looks like it’s a standard self-signed certificate when added, which should work.

You are probably having these thoughts because of a server / domain name mismatch, as this name is not included in every subject alternative name in your SSL certificate. Try opening a test page on the public internet that is on your SBS server and see if the message still appears. There probably won’t be any party transmitters finally known to people on the internet, so you have to pay for them. If that works, contact your vendor and ask them to add one of the names listed as SAN.

Sorry, I missed you, who knows where in between. I’m just trying to make you understand what you want to do with it and what this is about. You shouldn’t mind the existence of other self-signed credentials, you just need to worry about the certificate that might be associated with the one you want to access in general. Maybe the credential warning when connecting to RDP includes part of the hostname of the remote computer?

No, nothing is said about Remote PC Help Host. Only the server name is loaded. It seems to fall back to the default self-signed certificate provided, but there is another one that should actually work.
