Over the past few days, some of our users have reported receiving an xp application error message.

To enter the live BIOS in Windows 7, during the boot process, quickly and repeatedly press F2 (some products – F1) next to the Lenovo logo.

You can choose either Windows or Linux operating system, but whichever you choose, your computer’s BIOS (basic input or output system) decides everything behind the scenes. The BIOS, sometimes referred to as UEFI firmware on modern computers, tells your computer how much space your drives have and how much space they can boot, as well as aspects of them, among other important attributes. To change the boot order, set a system password, disable built-in ports and devices, or even go overclocking, you may need to access the BIOS menu.

  • When you start turning on the computer, it goes through a large and very fast POST. If you can press the primary hotkey multiple times before POST completes (or holdit because you pressed the power button), buyers will enter the BIOS. However, some computers go through POST quickly, so they don’t detect keyboard input until a few seconds after the command. To do this, continue with the method in #2.

Unfortunately, computers from different manufacturers use different BIOS keys. Most modern motherboards use the dongle, but ultrabooks, gaming laptops and gaming PCs are much less compatible. For example, if you press F2 on an Asus computer, you may need to press F10 on an Acer computer.

If your website doesn’t know your company’s computer keyboard shortcuts, you can check and see if there isa POST history message telling you which key was pressed, or you can try it. The DEL key, the Enter component, or the ESC key, because whoever is always one of them. Just try a few times to determine what the thought is. In our study, DEL and F2 were the most common.

    BIOS Key By Manufacturer

All common BIOS keys are listed here by name. Depending on the age of your entire model, the tone can vary greatly.

    • ASRock: F2 or DEL
    • ASUS: F2 for almost all PCs, F2 or motherboards
    • Acer: F2 or DEL
    • Dell : F2 or F12
    • ECS: DEL
    • Gigabyte/Aorus: F2 or DEL
    • HP: F10
    • Lenovo (Consumer Notebooks) : F2 or Fn + F2
    • Lenovo (Desktops): F1
    • Lenovo (ThinkPads): Then press F1.
    • MSI: LED also for motherboards such as PCs.
    • Microsoft Surface tablets: Press and hold and hold the volume down button.
    • Source PC: F2
    • Samsung: F2
    • Toshiba: F2
    • Zotac: LED

Unfortunately, some computers go through POST so quickly that there is no time to press a key. Some desktop computers don’t evenwill not recognize input including USB keyboard until POST is reached (although they will see input starting from the old PS2 style keyboard). If you cannot use the BIOS key and you also have Windows 10 , you can use the advanced boot feature to try to access it.

Method 3: Use The Linux Command

If you are using another modern version of Linux, such as Ubuntu, you can access the BIOS by typing “sudo systemctl reboot –firmware” directly at the command prompt.

What If You Can’t Learn Your OS Or Press The BIOS Key?

In most cases, if your computer is unable to load a powerful operating system because it doesn’t recognize the boot drive, it will pause, beep, and give you the option to enter the BIOS, and often “mobilely” set it up.”
