I’m trying to connect to my SQL Server 08 database from Java and I’m having the same problem with this valuable stream.
String username = "xxxx";change string = "xxxx";URL string = "jdbc:sqlserver:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;databaseName=asdfzxcvqwer;integratedSecurity=true";Class.forName("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver");login = DriverManager.username, getconnection(url, password);
I always get ClassNotFoundException
when I try to use the statement Class.forName("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver");
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver comes from org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1713) at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1558) comes from java.lang.Class.Method) forname0 (native, close to java.lang.Class.forName (unknown source) inside Repository.RepositoryBase.(RepositoryBase.java:22) in repositories.ProductsRepository.(ProductsRepository.java:13) in api.Products.init(Products.java:31) at javax.servlet.GenericServlet.init(GenericServlet.java:160) In org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.initServlet(StandardWrapper.java:1280) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.loadServlet(StandardWrapper.java:1193) World Wide Web at.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.allocate(StandardWrapper.java:865) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:136) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:123) org at.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:472) Internet at.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:171) always org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:99) Direction org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:936) org at.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:118) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:407) at org.apache.coyote.http11.AbstractHttp11Processor.process(AbstractHttp11Processor.java:1004) At org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$AbstractConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.java:589) available at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(JIoEndpoint.java:312) cappuccino at.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker (source unknown) In java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run (unknown source) java.lang.Thread.run (unknown source)
I’ve added the main market jdbc and jtds drivers to the library, and the CLASSPATH set is often there as well. To be honest, I don’t understand what’s wrong here.
Edit: As a trick, I tried downloading this precious jdbc-jar and putting it in a custom WEB-INF/lib, after which my CLASSPATH diff was set there. However, the same problem.
Edit2: Never mind, a complete reinstall of Eclipse worked. This is very frustrating…

This error occurs when you try to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database from a Java program. Unfortunately, the required JDBC driver is not only on the accessible classpath, or the driver is definitely on the accessible classpath, but the academic loader cannot navigate it due to classpath subtleties. Depending on your situation, solution A could be as simple as downloading lots of sqljdbc.jar, sqljdbc4.jar or sqljdbc41.jar depending on the version of Java you are using and adding to CLASSPATH like set CLASSPATH = %CLASSPATH%; (path to Microsoft JDBC driver) on Windows. By the way, most of the “java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver” sleeve is taken from the classpath.
For example, your own Java program uses the -cerebral parsy or -classpath option, but you added the CLASSPATH weather variable to the JAR, or vice versa.
Similarly, JDBC drivers for Java web applications should be located in the WEB-INF/lib directory or, if Tomcat is used, also in the tomcat/lib directory. Finding a solution becomes easy once you understand how the concept of a classpath in Java actually works, which isIt is mandatory for all Java developers.
Let’s try to find the real cause of java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver while solving this tricky error that prevents your java program from connecting to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 creates 2012 or even database.data from it year.
By the way, if you really want to understand Java database programming from scratch, I recommend reading the Complete JDBC Programming book on Udemy. This course explains all the important details of connecting to Java and JDBC databases, which is a simple example.
Which JDBC Driver JAR File To Use?
To connect to any database, including SQL Server, using Program, Java, we use the JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) API. This API can exist within the JDK itself, so no additional JAR file is required for your organization to use it. However, since it must support various database vendors that provide a driver interface, this is usually required for database vendors that implement Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server if they want to allow them to access their database yes via JDBC.< /p>
This implementation driver class is a way to connect to a database. If you know a bit of history, there are 4 types associated with JDBC drivers, but nowadays almost all databases support type 4, which is a simple Java JDBC driver that is quite easy to use compared to a JAR file. p>
Finally, all you have to do is include the JAR, e.g. mysql-connector.jar for MySQL, ojdbc6.jar for Oracle 11g databases, sqljdbc4 and .jar for SQL Server in your Java application’s classpath.
Sometimes the public may find that you even have multiple Driver jdbc JARs available for the same database, e.g. sqljdbc.jar, sqljdbc4.jar or sqljdbc41.jar for MSSQL database. This is due to the presence of many different jdbc versions available in different JREs.
The latest version of JDBC is the seven jdbc.1 released in Java 7 that may be supported by Microsoft inside sqljdbc41.jar and you should use this JAR if you are using Microsoft SQL Server or 2008 2012 Java 1.7 or if you include java 1.8 from . If you use this JAR with a JRE version lower than 1.7, you may get exceptions such as . SQLFeatureNotSupportedException.
If you are indeed connecting to a SQL Server dataset from Java 1.6, use sqljdbc4.jar which supports JDBC version 4.0 and this Java-in-1.5 JAR solution becomes an exception. Also, if you are connecting to a MSSQL JRE database from version 1.5, use sqljdbc.jar which uses JDBC 3.0.
