Symptoms

When you try to import your solution into Dynamics 365, you actually receive the following error message:

“Failed to migrate solution: .
Error code 80040203. “

Reason

This error can have various reasons. If your discussion of the error relates to the following type of problem, read the rest of the articles for a possible solution:

Type: relationship

Download a log file which, when opened on the components page, may display:

ItemType: entity relationship
Name: bpf_ _

Error code: 0x80040203
ErrorText: attribute display name for ID: , object column: DisplayName labelTypeCode: and unspecified attribute

The entity relationship name is the union of the best entity and business process flow (BPF). The object was previously removed from the BPF step and replaced with another object, and the BPF may have been updated as long as it remains enabled. The entity was kicked out of the FFT, but the relationship is still in the diagram. Therefore, it is exported from the source with solution a. This link causes an error to appear.

Resolution

Microsoft should be aware of this issue and could describe it as working on a change to remove this association after a recurring update.

Option 1 – Update The File

If you need to import a package and cannot rebuild the solution, remove the link from the entire solution.

1. Remove the solution.

2. 

   Modify Customizing.xml.

3. Findthe relationship currently mentioned in the error: bpf_ _ _

4. Remove all XML a for EntityRelationship:

     ... 

5. Save all files.

6. Zip the entire directory.

7. Import the result again.
