This QFE is provided by Microsoft and is required to update operating system components prior to installing an au iodriver. QFE provides the necessary files and an excellent readme file describing the installation. This QFE and files are only redistributed by Microsoft. • Note 3: Requires Microsoft (R) DirectX 9.0 or installation.

Note 1: It is usually best to remove any previously configured SoundMAX drivers from your system before installing a new driver.

1. Navigate to the current SoundMAX driver files folder and double-click click.exe.
2. During installation, the “Install Soundmax” dialog box appears. Click Next on the dialog box. When upgrading or reinstalling, the Installation Type dialog box appears. In the Or dialog box, select
   Reset the update switch “” and click Next.
3. Click Next and OK when is displayed.
4. Windows XP / 2000/2003: restart the procedure for a complete installation. About

1. click “Start” -> “Settings” -> “Control Panel” orclick “Start” -> “Control Panel” (depending on your operating system).
2. Double-click the Add / Remove Programs icon.
3. Click on an individual SoundMAX item in the list.
4. Click Change / Remove. (A chat window will appear). In the dialog box, select the Delete All option and click Next.
5. Reboot the system to be sure to remove the drivers.

Subsystem Tests

Audio – CPU load

The motherboard system is one of the most important boardss subsystems. A well-implemented sound solution can complement well-curved board, and a lower-than-usual sound solution can also spoil the image of the corrugated board, designed without modification. The easiest way to determine how well a great audio subsystem is implemented is to use CPU utilization under certain conditions while the subsystem is used in general. A well-designed audio engine should have minimal impact on the CPU at runtime, freeing up each of our precious CPU cycles for other snapshots like scene rendering. To best measure the actual processor utilization by a subsystem, we use Audio Winbench Ziff Davis.

Based on test results alone, it seems that when choosing a specific audio subsystem for the ADI snack, ASUS made a big decision regarding sound. In most tests, CPU utilization stayed below 5%, and in many tests the idea climbed to 6%. The results show that the card’s performance should suffer very little, if any, andthat the audio subsystem is consumed at high system load.

Audio – subjective hearing

Without subjective testing of the audio track, it is impossible to fully determine the quality of the corresponding audio subsystem. A sufficiently thorough test should include music that catapults the intensity limits of all subsystems, as well as training the ability of a particular subsystem to master the technologies of subtlety. For the sound test, I recorded music from Fear Factory Digimortal. This album is one of the best in the group, and it tends to reach that deep range by combining speed and raw intensity.

The caliber sound produced by the card was simply amazing. During the entire CD playback, I did not notice any sound distortion, stuttering, stuttering or cracking. The high and low wavelengths showed up very clearly, as did the natural wavelengths.

Audio – in-game music tests

However, in the high quality demos, there were no large companies with or without a company enabled, even in the EAX enabled demo. Sound quality seen throughout the test was excellent, with little hiss, crackles, stuttering, or skipping overall.
