Over the past few weeks, some users have reported encountering bios ga-x58a-oc.

I have his work for a very large company. Here we have many WebSphere Application Server clusters, each running many Java EE web applications. Not only most (but all) of these applications contain unusual instructions in displaying their custom web.xml to an error page when an unexpected error occurs. Here is an example:

        errors>500 /500.jsp

By doing this, we are of course trying to show our clients a handy page with the error URL, but other than that I mainly want to hide the special stack traces that are usually included in common HTTP 500 errors

As you should know, a stack trace contains a lot of sensitive data, such as package comparison names, class names, and method names. To make matters worse, stack traces sometimes contain SQL exceptions, often showing software is being used. provision of a database server. In the worst case, they sometimes contain stack traces, archive paths, and folder paths that can summarize the family of systems running our WebSphere Application Server.

Do I need all the other, even more sensitive data that most of these stack traces can usually reveal? (usernames, port numbers, IP addresses, people, machine/server JNDI object names…)

No surprises, every big company wants to hide stack traces from individual customers.

IBM support for Application websphere Server V8. 5.5 with Java 6 deployed before September 2019 will remain unchanged until the end of newcomer support. There is actually no need to purchase a benefit extension to get this support until July 2022. It is part of the standard version of WebSphere V8.

Sometimes, even with a properly configured custom error page in the web.xml file, WebSphere sends a standard error page to a client web site visitor. I perfectly understand why, the websphere does it. For example, be aware that while HTTP header responses are probably already validated, WebSphere cannot flush its buffer to zero to send a ritual error page and then do nothing better than send a regular error page. This is

    (1) Can WebSphere be controlled so that its simple error page never shows up?How about a stack trace? Although WebSphere may not email our custom error page for technical reasons, a simple error page does not contain sensitive data.

An internal server error 500 can actually be caused by errors occurring during the exact execution of any policy in Edge, or errors occurring in the actual target/primary server. The http 500 html status code is a generic error. This means that the server encountered an unexpected situation, due to which information technology was unable to respond to the request.

A web server error can be caused by a variety of things, from uploading an invalid file to an error in a section of code. This error answer is a one-size-fits-all solution. The web server tells users that something went wrong, but doesn’t know exactly what.
