In this guide, we are going to identify some possible causes that may not be producing sound in Windows Media Player Vista, and then indicate possible recovery methods that you can try to fix the problem. Often times, you can mute the sound in Microsoft Windows Media Player simply by adjusting the volume at the bottom of the program screen. Moving the slider to the right of Going to Leave increases the overall volume. When the slider is to the left, the volume was always at zero.

    • no sound in windows media player vista

I don’t always hear audio in WMP 11 when playing songs or videos. I listen to everything else attentively, rhapsodically and actively.

    • Hello

      Thanks for your reports.

MainPosting on your description, I suggest that you update your song driver to the latest version (basically I know it is v.6.10.0.5511, A04).

Also go to Control Panel> Sounds> Playback Devices, tell about speakers, Properties tab and uncheck all enhancements for testing.

      I’m optimistic this will help.

There can be several reasons for this problem. We need more files with a precise indication, such as what file format you want to play, the model of your linked sound card, and an error message in Windows Media Player 11.

The following Knowledge Base article may also be helpful for reference:

With Windows Media Player 11 you won’t hear any sound when customers plug speakers or headphones into the powerful audio jack

By the way, you can update your sound card driver or test drivers other than the file.

      Thank you.

    • Thanks for your help, I have a 30 day Dell E520 Vista with Ulitimate, the sound card was Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC, the main driver day is 12/1/07 which is an alternative to driver 6.10 .0.5343 , the file format I am using for playback is WMA, no error message appears. When I try to play a song on a video, the render / video is also played, the bar on that basis says the name of the song, and the song doesn’t move. When I toggle the slider, the time or things change, but still not for the sound.

      Thanks
