    Event ID 2002
    Source Perflib
Description The “PerfDisk” service logon procedure in DLL “C: WINNT system32 perfdisk.dll” took longer Time out to finish. There may be a problem with this expandable counter, or with the service data collection failed, or with a system that could be very fast when attempting this call.
    Event Info According to BMCSoftware

    Solution:
Creating an OpenProcedureWaitTime dollar value in the registry and setting it to milliseconds (30,000 seconds) prevents this type of error from occurring. Here is an excerpt from Qnote Q226494 which has the location of the OpenProcedureWaitTime and the actual explanation:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    SOFTWARE
    Microsoft
Windows NT for short Current version Perflib
    OpenProcedureWaitTime
If OpenProcedureWaitTime is present, perflib sets an internal timeout routine. If the Open Performance Monitoring Extension DLL function does not return within the specified day in milliseconds, an event (2002) is written to the event log at this PC value. However, this can only manage the main problem report and not the control file. For example, if an open target hangs, the Performance Monitor Digest hangs regardless of the user profile for that registry value.

    Symptoms

However, when using the performance monitoring tool, some performance counters may be missing or may not display performance counter statistics. Performance counter libraries can be damaged and need to be repaired.

    Reason

This can happen at any time if some extensible counters check the registry of a damaged PC, or if Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) -based programs modify the registry.

    Resolution

Make Sure All Counters In The Main Register Are Not Disabled

Counters can be disabled in the registry settings. Check the following registry stores to make sure the counters are not disabled in any way:

All of these locations may contain registration keys for DisablePerformanceCounters. On the Disable Performance Counters page, this value should always be set to 0. If the price is not equal At 0, any of our counters can be disabled.

    • A value of 1 means that the counter can be described as disabled.
    • A value of 2 means that the 32-bit counter is disabled.
    • The value is four. 64-bit means the counter is permanently disabled.

Recreate All Performance Counters, Including Extensible And Third-party Counters

Classify the following commands on the administrative command line to restore all performance counters, including third-party extensible counters. Press ENTER immediately with each command.

  • Resynchronizing counters using Windows Instrumentation Management (WMI):

    perfdisk dll event id 2002

      WINMGMT.EXE / RESYNCPERF
  • Close and restart some performance logs and notifications.

  • Stop and restart the Windows Management Instrumentation service.

  • Create a new data collector set (do not use an existing data collector set). In progress

  • sometimes lodctr / R does not restore all counters. If you find yourself continuing, make sure the c: windows system32 PerfStringBackup.INI file generated the correct information. You can copy this type of file from an identical coffee maker to restore the counters. There will probably be slight differences from car to car in this catalog. However, if you notice a dramatic difference in size, some instructions may be missing. Always make a backup that has already been replaced. There is no guarantee that repeating this file from another recovery computer will trigger all counters. Possibly if the file is connected to machine backups to see if the ad size has shrunk at some point.

For many counters, the ini destination for tuning performance counters is in windows winsxs , similar to the ini files for IIS.

Usually you need to install the INI files of the meter in the appropriate directory c: Windows winsxs .

You may need to restore multiple folders. In these cases, you may need some trial and error to find the correct ini files.

For example, try installing infoctrs.ini from each folder using:

If successful, you will see the following entry in the application log:

protocol name: applicationSource: Microsoft-Windows-LoadPerfEvent ID: 1001Level: InformationDescription:Poor performance solutions inetinfo (inetinfo) loaded successfully. The record data in the data area contains services of this type assigned to the new index values.
