Over the past week, some users have reported print server error 513.

This can happen if the printer connection label is damaged or if the print spooler can communicate with the print server. I restarted and didn’t get Event 513 error. It looks like a simple uninstall isn’t enough.

We use a lot of printers through Group Policy. They all target the entire side of the computer and do not use any Group Policy settings. I had almost no complaints about this, but we make several autonomous machines that many students quickly connect to for printing, and my husband and I accidentally run into printer connection problems. Unable to add Group Policy for every computer belonging to PrintServer Printer. Error code 0x57. This can happen if the device name has a bad connection, or if the print spooler is unable to contact the list server.
I have a print server role running on the correct Server 2012 VM. It worked fine until one of the printers went offline a few days later. I restarted the copy (no spooler effect) then restarted the webserver (plugged the printer back in). Since then, I have the following errors for the three printers I actually have on this server:
This issue occurs because the system VSS writer does not have NT AUTHORITY SERVICE permissions. If System Writer is running as another cryptographic service and trying to send all Mslldp. sys from the Microsoft Link-Layer Discovery Protocol driver, a specific Access Denied error is thrown.

Fix
Check Group Policy and report connection
- Make sure the UNC name of the printer report is correct and accessible to the entire computer or user.
- Use Group Policy Results to ensure that a rule is applied to the affected computer or userGroup Policy Object (GPO).
Complete the following tasks to verify that the customer has resolved the issue:
- Make sure there are useful print queues on the new computer and the correct printer is selected.
- If Windows tried to remove a term from the list of computers, make sure that the row was removed or that you are using methods to remove it. Some print lists can only be completely deleted after restarting the print spooler or computer.
- Print this document again. If the printer logs print spooler information lookup events to receive spooler event 10 after printing, check the document to make sure it printed correctly.
