If you start your computer in Windows mode , xp can safely help you diagnose or fix many serious problems, especially if it won’t start normally.

Press F8 Before The Windows XP Start Screen

Just before our custom Windows XP splash screen appears, first press F8 to access the Windows Advanced Settings Menu .

Select Safe Mode For Windows XP

You should now notice the Windows Advanced Options menu screen. Alternatively, you may be given the option to press F8 right from step 1, and now Windows XP is likely to start in the long run if it does. If this is an opera Oh connection, just restart your computer and press F8 again.

Here are three Windows XP Safe Mode options that you can enter:

    • Safe Mode is the default, so it is usually the best choice. In this mode, only the last minimal processes required to start Windows are loaded.
    • Safe Mode with Networking: This solution loads the same processes as Safe Mode, but also includes those that would normally provide networking functionality using Windows. Does this make sense if you are connecting to the Internet or a local network and you also need to troubleshoot problems.
    • Command Line Safe Mode: This convenient safe mode typically loads the minimum number of tasks, but allows access to command line help. This is a valuable option if you need advanced troubleshooting. However, things are a little different. For more information, read the instructions for Safe Mode with Command Prompt Windows XP.

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard toChoose Safe Mode or Safe Mode with network drivers loaded and press Enter.

Select An Operating System To Run

Windows needs to know which operating system to start with. Most users only have one specific installation of Windows XP, so the choice is usually obvious.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the correct procedure and press Enter.

Wait For Windows XP Files To Load

The minimum system files required to run Windows XP are now weighted. Each downloaded file is displayed on the screen.

During the demo, Safe Mode freezes on that touchscreen, documents the last Windows file loaded, then searches for Lifewire, or perhaps even the rest of the web for troubleshooting tips.

You don’t need to do anything here, but this screen gives you the opportunity to start troubleshooting if your computer is experiencing very serious problems and Safe Mode does not load completely.

    Log In Administrator Account

To use Safe Mode, you will need to be logged in with an administrator account, or perhaps even with an account with owner rights.

On the PC shown above, this personal account, Tim, and the built-in Administrator account, Administrator, Administrator, have the appropriate rights so that each of them can enter Safe Second Hand Mode.

If you are not sure if any of your unique accounts have administrator rights, select the administrator account and enter the actual password.

Switch To Windows XP Safe Mode

If you usually see the Windows Running in Safe Mode dialog above, select Yes to enter Safe Mode.

Make The Necessary Changes In Windows XP Safe Mode

Make the necessary changes and restart your computer normally . As practice shows, if nothing interferes, the computer should boot into XP-Windows soon after reboot.

As seen in the above snapshotOn the screen, it is very important to know if your Windows XP computer is in Safe Mode because the text “Safe Mode” is constantly displayed in all corners of the screen.
