How To Fix Network Adapter Device Manager Issues Without Uninstalling

The EDI subsystem inherently takes on the task of converting an EDI document in a standard EDI design to an IDoc file and vice versa. SAP does not inventory the EDI subsystem because there are multiple EDI standards and the standard has multiple versions. To further complicate the process, these standards are likely still evolving. Therefore, this task is almost certainly best performed by EDI providers that conform to certain standards.
EDI vendors have developed translators to support translation of application-specific IDoc releases, in the case of SAP, to the standard EDI format. Each translation utility is completely independent of any new SAP software and usually resides outside the SAP system.

The translator can be configured both on the hardware of the SAP system itself, and standalone on another computer. The system environment used for the EDI subsystem may differ from that of the SAP operating system. If the SAP system is installed on a UNIX platform, the subsystem may be on a separate platform, such as one running on Windows NT.
From the Windows * Device Manager menu, choose View> Show Hidden Devices. Expand the network adapters tree, delete our ad pters that are no longer installed by right-clicking the adapters in the gray circle and choosing Uninstall. Close all device managers and restart the main system.
SAP certifies the interoperability of certain EDI subsystems through the EDI interface. The interface id changes with each version. For this reason, certification is only valid for a specific version of SAP.
