I recently got my hands on a Pailllio FPGA snowboard and I must admit that I am completely new to FPGA. So I want this on OSX. After reading it online, I found that osx is not exactly a good platform for this, but I would actually like to give it a try. I can always go back to the Linux VM.

So my problem is how to download vhdl or a real program?

I was able to compile so I installed icarus and I would also say papillio loader, but apparently when I try to target fpga with icarus I get folio error:

  Test $iverilog Fpga -t -o hello.bit . 
 ERROR: config file v cannot be read: /usr/local/lib/ivl/fpga.I conf

so now I’m wondering if I missed another step < / p>

Well, I don’t have the answers you’re looking for, but it seems pretty obvious that specifying “-t fpga” will cause them to look for a file in / usr /. local / lib / ivl / fpga.conf. Maybe the file should have been there and it isn’t. It is possible that the file simply cannot be read or parsed for other reasons. A good first method would be to investigate the existence of the file containing the file.

This file path does not match what you would expect to find user-editable arrangement files, so it probably contains laptops or computers or the like. You may need to download additional packages or compile additional software from this file. Or you may need to specify a point other than fpga. This way you can see the files existing in the wh directoryo, and try them out today (like fpga2.conf or even FPGA.conf).

Unfortunately, Icarus is not familiar with Xilinx FPGAs (proprietary). The only way to get bitfiles to work is to start with the Xilinx tools and this strategy on Windows or Linux.

Maybe the file is allowed to be there, but this is not. The file may actually exist and cannot be read or parsed for other reasons. A good first detention cell could investigate the existence of the people involved.

This file path is not where you would expect it to be in user-edited design files, so it probably contains hardware definitions or something similar. It would be if you had to run additional packages or the software in question compiles additional switches for that file. Or you may need to specify a task other than fpga. You can just see that the files exist in the directory and try one of these people instead (these could be fpga2.conf and FPGA.conf).

Unfortunately, Icarus doesn’t know anything about the (proprietary) Xilinx FPGAs. The best way to get the second files working is to use the Xilinx tools, which means using Windows or Linux.
