Syslog-ng cannot read log files; Access Directory Error: Permission Denied
Description
The syslog-ng log file is not readable even though it is securely running as root.
The following error is displayed in the fire logs.
Error configuring directory ‘/ app / log’: permission denied ‘
Reason
By default syslog-ng limits the capacityis Linux, so it cannot read the log file or open the directory unless the primary user has unprivileged access.
Resolution
Solution 1 – change access rights
Example of directory access rights:
