Over the past few days, some of our readers have encountered a known bug in Dell System Restore XPS 8100. This issue occurs for a number of reasons. Let’s discuss this now.
Problem:
Yesterday my Dell Studio XPS 8100 was equipped with Win / Ultimateand first I want to check that the factory settings are working fine.
When the computer starts up, I press [F8] to launch the very advanced startup options. but this is optional. I have a hidden “recovery” partition, but it cannot be usedextended shoes or options botinus? Can anyone please help?

 When my XPS 8100 was no longer performing optimally, I experienced a power failure that damaged the drive. When I turn on my computer, I get an error message:
I tried a few hardware troubleshooting tips I found and found online in these forums, but they didn’t help and concluded that the hard drive was burned out.
How many people know how to access recovery discs to restore the operating system and drivers to an updated hard drive? The disc you created was lost when you moved.
If there is no doubt that the Dell factory image is not showing at all on this screen, the recovery partition is likely corrupted. I cannot trust the DVDs I burned from older versions of Dell DataSafe / Dell Backup and Recovery. This is too risky, and the many reports of media corruption are likely from It is related to DVD burning problems.
The first thing you can try is to uninstall Dell DataSafe and Dell Backup and Recovery from the Uninstall menu or change the program on all devices.
Click [WindowsAnd] [e And] to uninstall or update the program:
Double-click any Dell DataSafe or Dell Backup and Recovery program to start a fresh uninstall. Repeat if there are several programs. Reboot your computer.
Then download the latest Dell Backup and restore from here:
The latest version with Dell Backup and Recovery contains many fixes and improvements over previous versions and can restore your recovery partition. The first thing you can try is transferring your USB recovery drive. I have a great example video:

IfDell Backup Recovery cannot restore the recovery partition and create a bootable USB stick, the only choice is to manually reinstall using the Windows 7 reinstall DVD. Personally, I agree with this option as cleaning the installation always requires much better than the current factory defaults. I have provided complete instructions here:

If Windows 7 is likely to be installed on an SSD, your product will perform much better. The XPS 8500/8700 may have an mSATA connector that accepts an mSATA solid state drive. In the case of earlier female XPS like the XPS 8100/8300, you will probably need a 2.5-inch SSD.
